Specialty Coffee in Pattaya, A Local Guide
What it means, how to order, and where to drink it.

What specialty coffee actually means
Specialty coffee is not a marketing badge. It refers to arabica beans scored 80 points or higher by certified Q graders, sourced from a single origin or a considered blend, roasted with care, and pulled through a properly calibrated espresso machine. In Pattaya, where the default is often instant or over-roasted commodity coffee, a genuine specialty cup stands out from the first sip.
How to order like a regular
- Espresso, a single shot, best for tasting the bean itself.
- Piccolo or cortado, a short milk drink that keeps the espresso in front.
- Flat white, stronger than a latte, silkier than a cappuccino, the everyday café order.
- Iced latte, the Pattaya-weather default, espresso poured over cold milk and ice.
- Batch brew or filter, when you want to taste the origin rather than the milk.
If you like it sweeter, ask for a Nutella iced latte or a caramel latte. If you want it stronger, ask for a double shot. Baristas at proper cafés will always be happy to dial it in.
Where to drink it in East Pattaya
East Pattaya, the residential side around Siam Country Club Road and Mabprachan Lake, has quietly become the best area for a proper coffee away from the beach-road crowds. Parking is easy, seating is comfortable, and the pace is slower.
BRU Coffee & Bar sits at 238/6 M6, Siam Country Club Road, East Pattaya, Chonburi 20150. We roast-partner with a small Bangkok roaster, pull every shot to order, and serve the coffee alongside all-day breakfast, French pastries and homemade cakes. Indoor air-con and a shaded outdoor terrace, free Wi-Fi, and free parking directly outside.
