Open positions
Previous commercial barista experience is required. Applicants complete a short practical test before interview covering espresso preparation, grinder use and steaming and texturing milk for a hot latte. Conversational Thai is required for team communication and a reasonable to good standard of spoken English is required for serving customers. Applicants must be available on Saturdays and Sundays and able to work assigned shifts, including evening and closing shifts. Assist with food preparation, washing, cleaning, stock organisation and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the café, kitchen, customer areas and toilets. Applicants must be thorough, organised and able to work independently. English is not required for this position.
Role requirements
- Previous commercial barista experience is required.
- Complete a short practical espresso machine test before proceeding to interview.
- The test covers espresso preparation, grinder use and steaming and texturing milk for a hot latte.
- Conversational Thai is required for day-to-day team communication.
- A reasonable to good standard of spoken English is required for communication with customers.
- Available to work Saturdays and Sundays.
- Able to work assigned shifts, including shifts finishing after 4 pm and evening or closing shifts.
Applicants who need every weekend off or a fixed 4 pm finish should not apply for this position.
Experienced Barista Skills Test
Applicants for experienced barista positions complete a short practical test before interview, including espresso preparation, grinder use and milk steaming and texturing. This helps us confirm practical barista experience before proceeding to the interview.
Weekend and shift flexibility
BRU is open seven days a week. Applicants must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays and be flexible with assigned finishing times, including shifts that finish after 4 pm and evening or closing shifts where required.
Additional Income & Benefits
All positions include:
- ฿50 food allowance per working day
- Shared daily cash tips from dine in customers

After successfully completing the 90 day probation period
- ฿1,000 punctuality bonus
- ฿1,000 attendance bonus
- Other performance bonuses
Estimated total earnings for a ฿12,000 base salary can reach around ฿18,000 per month. For an Experienced Barista on a ฿14,000 base salary, estimated total earnings can reach around ฿20,000 per month. These examples include food allowance, typical shared daily cash tips and applicable bonuses after probation. Tips and bonuses vary and total earnings are not guaranteed.
Requirements
- Conversational Thai is required because Thai is used for day-to-day communication within the existing team.
- Applicants of any nationality are welcome if they are legally able to work in Thailand and can communicate effectively in Thai.
- A reasonable to good standard of spoken English is required for barista and service staff positions to communicate with customers.
